Good Evening!
Today I will be writing about the different ways to make money online. When I first decided I wanted to make money online I had no clue as to how I would do it. I knew other people were successfully doing it. But how the heck was I gonna do it? So I started to do some research into cashing in on the internet.
When you get down to it there are actually only 3 ways to make money online.
1) Sell your own stuff
2) Sell other peoples stuff
3) Sell other peoples ads on your site
Now obviously there are many variations of these 3 things...but those are basically the main ways to make money online. So if you break them down you come up with these options.
1) Sell your stuff.
This can be accomplished in quite a few ways. Ebay is one way, cleaning out your attic or garage and putting your stuff up for sale. Purchasing discount or closeout items and selling them on Ebay. Creating your own product, crafts, artwork, info products, the latest greatest mousetrap, etc., and then selling it on Ebay. You can sell almost anything on Ebay, ( I believe body parts are out of the question in case anyone's thinking about selling their extra kidney or anything like that). 8 ) But Ebay is only one avenue to sell your stuff.
You can put up a website of your own, or utilize something like Ebay stores or Paypal Shops, or any of a number of other storefront options available on the web for setting up shop and selling your stuff.
The main benefit to this option is you pretty much get to keep all the profits for yourself, (unless you are offering affiliate partners a share of the profits), so all the money make you get to keep yourself. And you have complete control of the product you are selling, no worries about whether or not the product is worthwhile or a some junk someone is trying to pawn off on unsuspecting customers.
The main drawback to this is more work. You have to create, buy, or find whatever it is you are going to sell. You have to ship it or make it available for download, or however it is you are going to get your stuff to the buyer. You have to set up a website or pay someone to create your site if you are selling from your own website. You have to deal with customer support, refunds, etc. So in a nutshell more work...but more $$$.
2) Sell other peoples stuff.
This is probably one of the easiest ways to make money online. You can become an affiliate marketer, you advertise somebody's product for them, direct customers to their site, the customer purchases said product, and you get paid a commission from the seller. You don't have to deal with product development, customer complaints, payment processing, etc. All you do is drive traffic to the vendors site and collect your share of the money when they buy.
This is probably the easiest way for newcomers to start out making money online. When you are first starting out you usually don't have a website, or a list to promote and sell to, or a product, or anything actually except a desire to figure out how the heck to make money online! So affiliate marketing is usually a good choice to "get your feet wet" so to speak and start generating an income online.
3) Sell other peoples ads on your site.
This is probably one of the hardest ways to make money online in my opinion. At least initially. To be able to sell ad space on your own site you are going to need a pretty large traffic count coming to your site to be able to charge any kind of money for ad space. You are going to be hard pressed to convince anyone to pay any kind of real money to advertise on your website if you don't have a few thousand people dropping by your site on a regular basis.
Ads and affiliate marketing are 2 ways to generate money on your blog, and if you can generate enough interest on a topic on your blog you could start getting a good base of traffic coming to your blog. But even with a good topic it's going take a while to generate enough traffic to start selling ad space on your blog.
So there you have it. Now you just have to decide which way you want to go. Get out there and do some research into the different venues and see which one appeals to you. Ideally you would eventually branch out into all 3 ways. Remember multiple streams of income is the way to go. You don't want to rely on just one thing if you are looking to replace your daily 9-5 grind with an income from the internet.

Work From Home - The 1st Thing You MUST Do
Hullo!
Today I am going to address what you MUST do before you start your Work From Home Journey. What I have discovered is a MAJOR stumbling block for most people just starting out is "Information Overload". There are a wide variety of ways to make money online. Affiliate Marketing, Create and sell your own product, (i.e. an e-book), selling PLR, (Private Label Rights products), the list goes on and on. What happens to many people starting out is they begin looking into many of these options and start requesting information or signing up for newsletters, free reports, etc. When you request this information you usually have to give your name and email address. Which puts you on someones mailing list and then the fun begins.
You will suddenly become very popular! Your email box is filling up daily. Everyone wants to sell you something, or wants you to come to their site and see what they have for you that you simply can't live without. So you dash over and check out one site, you get sucked in by the flashy ads and claims. The next thing you know you are getting out your credit card or logging in to you PayPal account to buy their product. You get your new latest and greatest product and jump right in. After reading through the material for an hour or so you sadly realize you won't be calling your boss tomorrow to tell him "I QUIT! I've hit the mother lode on the internet".
So off you go to back sorting through your emails, you find another exciting sounding product and off you go again, and again, and again. The next thing you know you have a bunch of products sitting on your hard drive waiting for you to "Strike it Rich". It's very easy to do. You begin to jump from one product to another looking for that quick and easy way to get rich working from home. Listen, it's not going to happen. Whatever you decide to do, Affiliate Marketing, Ebay, sell your own info book, Network Marketing, whatever it is, it's going to take some work on your part and it's NOT going to happen overnight.
Do your research, find out how to create your own e-book, or become an Ebay god, or an Affiliate Marketing Madman. Find out exactly what's going to be involved in which ever option appeals to you. And do yourself a favor. Get yourself another email address, from Yahoo, or Google, or Hotmail, Gmail, anywhere. Use that email address when you are signing up for free reports, or information products or what ever you need in your research in deciding how you want to make money in your quest to work from home. You'll be glad you did. You are going to be amazed at how many emails you are going to be getting once you start inquiring into all these programs and opportunities.
Well I think I am going to call it a night here. Time for bed...Next post we'll get into some of the different ways to make money online and the pro's and con's of the differnt options out there.
Cya!

Day One The Blog Begins
Greetings!
First off let me say that the date for this blog is incorrect. Today is actually April 23,2008. I came here and set up the blog at the end of March and put in a few words and that was it. I had planned on coming back the next day but some things came up......and now here it is almost a month later...anyway I promise I will be posting a bit more frequently than every 3 -4 weeks 8)......so anyway on to the blog......
Welcome to my blog. I hope to spread some wisdom about my experiences,(or should I say my nightmare), that has been my work from home journey. I have to say first off that before you purchase any work from home program you need to beware! I can't even begin to count how many scams and rip-offs programs that are out there. But believe me when I say....It IS possible to work from home online and make money! There are many people out there making a very comfortable living working online from home.
Many will ask, " well how the heck do I determine whether or not it's a scam"? Well common sense certainly comes to mind as one way! 8) I mean if it says you are going to be able to buy their program and sit back and watch the money roll in, and you don't have to do any work....common sense should tell you...."boy this sounds a little to good to be true". Well guess what...it probably is!! Unfortunately many of these scam artists are so good at drawing you in with their ad copy that it's hard to resist.
So here is one way I have found to check them out. Many of them have a name for their program, or actually list the name of the person who has developed the program. So just hop on over to Google or Yahoo and type in the persons name or the name of the program in the search bar......and at the end of it just add in the word scam. If anyone has been scammed or ripped off you are going to get some results back warning you to stay away! There are even quite a few sites out there that specialize in reporting scam and rip-off artists and or their programs. Now this won't work for all the programs out there but it will work for quite a few, especially the big name ones. It will at least give you a starting point.
Here is another way to check a program out. Most of the Work from Home sites almost always have a testimonials page. Now if they just give you a first name and last initial and maybe a location you are out of luck for this method. But many of them will give a name, and the persons web site address. The legit ones will have actual web site links that work. The scam ones will usually have links that mysteriously do not work. Or they will sometimes post the web address in the testimonial but you can't click on it.....they just make it an inactive link. If that's the case just copy and paste the link into a new tab or window in your web browser and check it out. If most of the links in the testimonials pages won't take you to the person listed web page, or if they just don't go anywhere, then chances are you want to stay away.
In closing tonight I will give you 2 sites you can use to check out a program you are wondering about. The first one is called Scam.com. It's a forum site dedicated to scams. Just click on the search button and type in the program name or persons name that you want to check out. Chances are if it's a scam it will be listed in someones post somewhere in the forum. Or you can just register for a free account at Scam.com and post a question about the program or person you are wondering about.
The other site I recommend checking out is called WAH Watchdog/. This site a a bit different. What they do is they have a grade for Work At Home Programs. The reason I like this site is that the grading is done by people who have actually purchased one of the Work at Home programs. To post a rating on a program you have to prove that you have actually purchased the program. It's a different idea and there have been over 8 MILLION votes cast on all those programs you see out there. Head on over and check it out.
The main point of all this is, you need to do your research before you lay down your hard earned money for a program that you can't evaluate until after you have paid your money. In following blogs I will give you some other things to look out for in scam sites, and I will get more into the different ways to actually make money online from home. There are programs out there that actually do work!!!
G'nite all!
